I havent got enough good things to say about this movie! Its a welcome relief from the usual summer Attack-of-the-Spider-Men-in-Black hype films. Secondly, its always good to see a post-apocalyptic britain instead of the usual scorched statue of liberty. One of the few films i've seen this summer without the hype. I saw Reign of fire a few days ago and I can tell you I loved it. I loved the part of the Americans being typecast in a weird way. I mean there I was looking at a film that saw things in a different point of view, a European point of view. Now the story didn't make sense. Come on can we really believe that dragons ruled that Earth and that man was completley hopeless to stop them. I mean come on are we that naive. However, the film has some redeaming moments, like when they fly up in the helicopter and sky dive down to Earth and destroy the dragons by throwing nets on their wings. Or when the American dragon slayer flies in the air with an axe and tries to destroy the male dragon with an axe. That was just an awesome scene. Now it is hard for me to believe that if they killed the male dragon then they would save themselves. I mean what about all those female dragons? And why didn't they attack in the end? And the eggs? Don't you think that maybe one of them carried a male dragon. Well there are a lot of questions that weren't answered and in a film like this I don't expect for people to answer them. However, I love the film for its outragousnes.

I have to side with soulJacker on this one, it was a big disappointment, I mean the effects were good, I like the way London was filmed after the attack of the dragons, but there were so many story opportunities there that were not used. The pace was to slow for my liking. But it was a good film for the British film industry, filmed mainly in Ireland and a little bit in England, did any one on here work on it, in any small or big role?

If I could call it **** and not be censored I would call it shlt because that is what I thought it was. I still can't believe I got swindled into seeing it.

Uh. I saw it. Was good enough. Some was clever. Good FX. But it was just a tad outside the usual hollywood bullshit. Didn't expect it to be.

It would have been better if it would have told the story of the actual fight between humans and dragons.
Think about group Apaches and Alligators flying toward a horde of living and breathing flame throwers.

I found Reign of Fire to be very entertaining, although in the end I wanted more dragons, less laggin'. For once, I went into a theater hoping to be bludgeoned by Hollywood eye-candy. I guess my biggest disappointment was that the US soldiers hyped themselves up as being these bad-*** dragon slayers, but the only thing you see in the movie is them getting massacred.
Maybe I'm being too critical...
